How are you changing?

With the advent of COVID-19, our lives have been turned upside down. For the past few months, our family has been sheltering in place. And while I work from home most of the time and should not see too much of a difference, there have been shifts in my reality.

For many, the work from home aspect can be both a blessing and curse. It’s great that they no longer have the long slog of a commute. But it also means that they are able to start work at an earlier and typically work later. Others, who no longer have childcare and are homeschooling, while still required to work their 8 hours days, are finding that they are taking on two-full time jobs.

On the flip side, others are finding freedoms they never had. Without the commute and requirement to sit at a desk for 8 hours straight, others are finding that they can go for walks with their family during day. Even as I sit here typing, I see a family walking down the sidewalk, enjoying the fresh air. As long as they are getting their work done, their lives are actually being enhanced.

One thing I have noticed, is that people seem to be friendlier to each other. We are all in this together and the situation seems to be bringing out a kinder side in others.

The question I pose to you is… how will these weeks change you? How can you better yourself so when the quarantines are over, you are in a great position of strength than when you went in? Are you more appreciative of teachers? Will you read more? Will you get in better shape? Will you pursue additional credentials? Will you spend more time with family?

Use this time. Find the good.
